The conference was dedicated to Tartu Vocational College 100th anniversary and was held in hybrid form in Tartu as well as online in WorksUp environment. Altogether about 115 participants took part in the conference on site as well as about 200 online. The participants included Tartu Vocational College staff members as well as representatives of Tartu City Government, Estonian Ministry of Education, enterprises, other vocational schools and Tartu VOCO international partner schools.
Tartu VOCO business student Maarja Lodeson made a Pecha Kucha presentation at the conference on the topic Future Mega-trends, Skills and Competencies. The presentation content and also Pecha Kucha format she learned during the piloting of the SuFi project module 3. The Tartu VOCO business students chose the module that was created and piloted in the SuFi project as an elective course. Making a presentation alongside the professors of Tartu University discussing the challenges that VET education is facing and the skills and competencies we all need was a big challenge for the student. The students have practised their Pecha Kucha presentations on the topic in classroom and organizers of the conference wanted to recognize their excellent contribution during the piloting. The results of the studies were so relevant and so well-prepared that Tartu Vocational College seized the possibility to share it with a wider audience. The presentation was well-received and gave a different angle to thinking about the role of education in the future world.
